Scott Alexander Edgar
Born: 21 December 1946,
San Francisco, SFC, CA.
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. I graduated from Cupertino High School in 1964 (before anyone ever heard of Silicon Valley). I served a mission for the LDS Church from March 1966 until April 1968 in the North Central States Mission (Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Dakota's).

Upon returning home, I was drafted into the U.S. Army in June 1968 but managed to get into the U.S. Air Force and began my career in September 1968. I served as an Intelligence NCO and Imagery Interpreter in England, Thailand and then West Germany before getting out of the military to attend Brigham Young University (BYU). At BYU, I studied International Relations, Middle East Affairs, and served as the Cadet Corps Commander of the U.S. Air Force R.O.T.C. Detachment at BYU. I graduated from BYU in December 1979 with a BA degree in International Relations.

After graduation, I re-entered the Air Force as an Intelligence Officer and was assigned to Sembach AB, West Germany. In January 1982, I transfered to Ramstein AB where I served as a Middle East Analyst. After Jenny's untimely death in April 1984, we were given a humanitarian reassignment back to the United States. We moved to Bountiful, Utah and I served at Hill AFB as the Chief of Operational Intelligence for the F-16 Tactical Fighter Wing. In July 1986, I was selected to attend the Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey, California. I completed the program of studing in May 1988 and was assigned to Scott AFB in Illinois where I served as the Senior Middle East Analyst for the U.S. Transportation Command.

While at Scott AFB, I had many challenging and rewarding experiences and travelled extensively. I was involved in the Panama Conflict and the Persian Gulf Ward. Plus, I travelled throughout the Middle East. I enjoyed the work, but it was demanding. In February 1990, Kathy and I were married and she came to join our family in Illinois. Then, in July 1991, an opportunity came for us to live in Hawaii and I took the job. I elected to be reassigned to the Pacific Air Rescue Detachment in Hawaii as the Chief of Intelligence. This was a great move, and one that our family enjoyed. In addition, I travelled a great deal throughout the Pacific Rim to many interesting places. However, one year later the detachment was closed and I was moved on the island to the Pacific Command, Joint Task Force-Full Accounting, at Camp Smith. While at JTF-FA, I served as the Collection Manager in our efforts to confirm Live Sightings of American still in Southeast Asia and to recover and identify human remains from the Viet Nam War. This was a great assignment for me because it provided closier to many unanswered questions from my experience in Southeast Asia. I came to feel confident that there were no U.S. Military or Civilian prisoners left behind in Vietnam.

I retired from the US Air Force in 1994 and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Since retirement, I've studied and worked in the computer hardware, software and networking business. I worked full-time as the network administrator and IT Manager at Boulder City Hospital in Boulder City, Nevada. I also started a family business "Scott Edgar & Associates" (www.scottedgar.com) that provided computer and networking support to local small business.

In July 2006, we decided to move to Sanpete County in Central Utah. We packed up our house, loaded the moving vans, and relocated to Spring City, Utah. This have been a great move for our family. I have expanded my business to include Internet website development, hosting and management. We are so very much in love with this beautiful area and we plan to spend the rest of our days living and enjoying Sanpete County.
